The European Harp Symposium “Stellae Matutinae” is proud to announce a casting for the “Stars of tomorrow” concert series.

The European Harp Symposium “Stellae Matutinae” sees itself as a platform for the promotion of young harpists. The “Stars of tomorrow” concert series offers 12 selected people the opportunity to present their creativity and expressiveness to an interested audience.

In addition, they and another 18 people will have the opportunity to be taught by outstanding educators as part of our masterclasses.
All 30 artists will also receive a single ticket, which gives them free access to the events of the symposium.

Rules and Regulations for the “Stars of tomorrow” concert series

1. The European Harp Symposium “Stellae Matutinae” will take place in Feldkirch, Austria, from 12th to 18th April 2025.

2. The “Stars of tomorrow” concerts will take place on all days except Sunday, 13th April, from 11 to 12 a.m. in the chapel of the Stella Vorarlberg University of Music.

3. Twelve selected artists will perform in six concerts of this series. Each of them will have to present a programme (minimum of 20 minutes, maximum of 27 minutes) of free choice, which may include solo repertoire and/or chamber music. We strongly encourage experimental programming, the inclusion of works by female composers and contemporary music. 

4. The Symposium will provide harps, chairs and music stands for the concerts. Additional instruments, electronics and musicians will have to be organised by and at the expense of the selected artists. The chapel will be available each morning from 9 a.m. We advise the artists to be mindful of their colleagues sharing the stage regarding warming-up times and necessary preparations of the stage.

5. The symposium pays each selected artist 300 euros for the performance. In addition, they receive a place in one of the masterclasses and a single ticket, which gives them free access to all events of the symposium. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and takes place in the Festsaal. The masterclasses are open to the public. 

6. Applicants must be born after 1st January 1999. In addition, the following must be uploaded:

– two high-resolution photos

– a short curriculum vitae with details of musical education, participation in master classes and/or competitions and selected projects

– a detailed programme containing the NAMES and DATES OF LIFE of the composer and the TITLES of the works (name, opus, number and/or tonality)

– ⁠two videos, each containing a piece of the proposed programme, which were self-interpreted, unedited, uncut and unabridged uploaded to one of the common video portals (YouTube or similar). The pieces can be entire works, but also individual movements. It must be ensured that the links can be opened (especially for unlisted videos).

7. Applications are only accepted via the form on the www.stellaematutinae.org website.

8. Applications can be submitted from 1st December 2024 to 31st January 2025. Applications after the deadline are excluded. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

9. All selected artists will be notified by email by 10th March 2025. 

10. Artists who are not selected for the concert series will have the chance to get one of the remaining 18 places in the masterclasses. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and takes place in the Festsaal. The masterclasses are open to the public. In addition, they will receive a single ticket that gives them free access to all events of the symposium.

11. The artists are selected by a five-member committee, which also includes the artistic director. Members of the committee cannot vote for their former or current students. In the event of a tie, the decision is made by lot.

12. Artists are selected based on their musical skills and the quality of their programme. Age and gender are not included in the evaluation. Allocation to the masterclass is subject to availability. Appointment requests can be registered, but not guaranteed. Participation in the masterclass is mandatory

13. Legal recourse is excluded.

14. The payout of the single ticket is excluded.

15. The symposium does not provide food and accommodation.

16. The symposium does not offer legal guardianship for participants under the age of 18.

17. For minors, a written declaration of consent from their parents or legal guardians is required to participate. For people under 16 years of age, the presence of an adult is recommended.

18. The Symposium reserves the right to photograph and record concerts and other events and distribute these materials for promotional purposes without any financial obligation to the Symposium.

19. All selected artists will receive a certificate of participation.

20. The legal basis for processing your personal data is based on your participation in our events, your visit to our website or is otherwise in our legitimate interests under the GDPR.

INFORMATION ABOUT PERSONAL DATA

​The European Harp Symposium “Stellae Matutinae” is the administrator of personal data. The data will be processed for the purposes of the current recruitment for participation in the “Stellae Matutinae – Stars of tomorrow” concert series and master classes and will not be shared with other recipients on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) and on the basis of Article 9(2)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016. The basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016.

You have the right to:
– request the Administrator to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data,
– to object to such processing,
– lodge a complaint to a supervisory authority,
– withdraw consent to the processing of personal data.
