An Introduction to Jazz Improvisation and Standards
– Ben Creighton Griffiths
For this workshop Ben will introduce participants to the first steps of preparing a real jazz standard – including playing the melody, interpreting the harmony of chord charts, improvising, and more. No previous experience in jazz or improvisation is necessary – just the enthusiasm to get stuck in! This workshop is suitable for lever and pedal harps.

Flow my Harp
– Lena Rummel
In this course you will learn what conditions are needed to play the harp comes as easily as possible into a state of flow: the state in which everything is easily
and you forget time and space.
With the help of many practical exercises, Lena provides patterns that bring the participants into the flow. All exercises are offered at different levels of difficulty.
The course is at least for slightly advanced students, but you can also benefit from this course as a professional and music teacher.

“Small, but mighty!” – The unimagined possibilities of the mini lever harp
– Eva Curth
Both professionals and lovers of our beautiful instrument think about buying a “travel harp” from time to time, but even the common lever harps usually still have a considerable weight. For some time now, however, very light models with different string circumferences have also been on the market. These are used, for example, as “therapy harps” in hospital and hospice work. But what can one play on it?
In this workshop, Eva Curth will present the large repertoire for small harps. In addition to many tips on existing literature and how to arrange pieces yourself, participants are also invited to try out the instrument themselves.
Active participation in the course is at least for slightly advanced students, but you also benefit from this course as a professional and music teacher. Curious beginners are also welcome!

New Approaches to the Pedals
– Park Stickney
This class is for pedal harp players who want to develop a more intense relationship with their harp’s pedals. It focuses on exploring the advantages of multi pedal movements, pedal slides and micro pedal control. This will be done via jazz standards, as well as by looking at a series of pedal etudes dealing specifically with these issues.
This is a hands-on (and feet-on) workshop, although observers are also welcome. Participants are also invited to bring pedal problems in repertoire they’re working on (or worrying about.) Active participation is only possible on double-action harps.
