Eva Curth

Eva Curth was born in Herford and took singing and piano lessons as a child as well as her first harp lessons with Monika Hölters. She studied concert harp at the Detmold University of Music (with Prof Ruth Konhäuser and Clotilde Depenheuer-Oelmüller) and at the MOZARTEUM Salzburg University of Music and Performing Arts (with Prof Edward Witsenburg) and graduated with honours as a soloist. She also received strong impulses from her lessons with Alice Giles.

In 1998/99 Eva Curth was solo harpist at the Landestheater Detmold, from 1999 to 2011 solo harpist at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz Berlin. She left the theatre at her own request in order to devote herself fully to performing and teaching. As a soloist and chamber musician, she performs all over the world and is also very committed to contemporary music. She has played a number of world premieres, is a member of ensemble reflexion K and work in progress berlin and has recorded numerous radio and CD productions.

Eva Curth has taught harp classes at the Duisburg Music School and the School of Music and Art in Gütersloh. Since 2008, she has been a lecturer at the Georg Philipp Telemann Conservatory in Magdeburg and also gives interpretation courses, composer workshops and private lessons.
